EDUCATION
I have been an educator focused on advocacy and trauma-sensitive frameworks for over 20 years. I have co created learning spaces with students age 6-70, in classrooms spanning from post-disaster outdoor spaces to university classrooms.
I have provided therapeutic photo education for veterans experiencing homelessness, led media and arts education in public high schools , worked in museum education and have been in service to incarcerated learners. I cofounded Laramie’s annual Youth Justice Institute, where young folks learn about their rights while making media and interrogating the state’s juvenile justice system—centering their voices in conversations around juvenile justice reform in Wyoming.
Utilizing my background in collaborative anthropology, I often work on a project basis to connect organizations, policy makers, artists and teachers in jointly amplifying youth voice and action. As an instructor and guest lecturer of photography, historical archaeology, and applied anthropology, I believe in a pedagogy of exploration that honors diverse lived experiences. It is a pleasure to be a practitioner of practice within university walls.
